About a Dozen County Offices Remain Closed to the Public Due to Power Outages

BATAVIA, OHIO (Aug. 13, 2026) – About a dozen county offices remain closed to the public today, Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026, due to storm-related power outages. 

County officials are coordinating with Duke Energy to restore power as soon as possible. An estimated 13,000 homes and businesses throughout the county still lack power. Duke is estimating the power will be restored by midnight.

The Village of Batavia has opened a cooling center on the first floor of its armory building at 65 N. Second St. The center is open to area residents in need until 5 p.m. Hours may be extended or adjusted as conditions change. Please check the village's Facebook feed for updates.  

From the Clermont County Engineer, please see below for the list of county roads that are closed due to debris or power lines. 

The National Weather Service is forecasting more heavy rain for later today in Greater Cincinnati, as estimated two to four inches. Clermont County remains under a flood watch through tonight. See the graphic below for safety tips.

Animal Shelter

  • Animal Shelter (closed to the public)


Building Inspection/Permit Central (2275 Bauer Road)

  • Office closed but will perform scheduled building inspections.  


Public Health

  • The administration and vital statistics offices (birth/death certificates) at 2275 Bauer Road are closed to the public. However, if you need to order a birth or death certificate, you may visit the health department's nursing and WIC location in person at 2400 Clermont Cener Drive, Suite 200, for assistance.

    Please note:

  • Previously scheduled health inspections will be conducted today.

  • The nursing division and WIC offices at 2400 Clermont Center Drive, Suite 200, are open. 

Clermont Transportation Connection

  • Public bus service is running but routes may be delayed.
  • The office is closed due to the power outage and cannot receive messages for the time being. 


Courts

  • Common Pleas/Common Pleas Clerk

  • Domestic Court/Domestic Court Clerk

  • Juvenile Court, Probate and Probation

  • Public Defender


Records Center

  • Office is closed.

Water Resources Department (4400 Haskell Lane)

  • Customer service office is closed.

Engineer  

Engineer Admin Building closed but highway crews will respond to storm damage. Check the Engineer's Facebook account for updates
