Batavia, Ohio. Santa is expected to arrive by boat, just in time for the annual ReinDog Parade in New Richmond this weekend. “It always brings out some interesting entries,” laughed Cathy Kirschner with the River Village Christmas event that features a ReinDog Parade on Saturday afternoon. “You can expect to see a number of dogs wearing holiday sweaters and antlers, but other pets show up in the parade as well, including pigs!” The ReinDog Parade steps off around 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 11 in downtown New Richmond.
The eighth annual River Village Christmas event in this Clermont County riverfront village will feature crafters, movies projected on a big screen, the lighting of the village tree, a live Nativity and petting zoo, carriage rides, historic hay rides, children’s activities, and an evening parade on Saturday with seven Grand Marshals, all World War II veterans.
“There is really something for everyone,” said Kirschner. “Most of our events are free, with donations going to help us continue to offer family-friendly events such as this. I was raised here, and many of us are doing all we can to keep New Richmond a great community for families.”
