Batavia, Ohio. The Clermont County Veterans’ Services Office will hold a medals ceremony on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Veterans’ Services Office, located on the third floor of the Heritage Building, 76 South Riverside Drive in Batavia. During the ceremony, medals will be presented to five Clermont County veterans of the United States Army who served in either WWII or Vietnam.
“The military medals reflect the high standard to duty, honor, and country for each generation to see and honor; it clearly says that each veteran took an active role in defending freedom,” said Clermont Veterans’ Services Director Danny Bare. “Military medals help preserve one of the greatest accomplishments any American can claim as his or her most honorable and highest commitment to our nation.”
Among those who will be receiving medals are: William W. Ford (Vietnam), the family of Cheryl Lyons (WWII), Cecil H. Rose (WWII), the family of Raymond Clepper (WWII), and John M. McLoughlin, Sr. (Vietnam).
