Batavia, Ohio. The Clermont County Water Resources Department (CCWRD) invites area citizens to attend an open house at the new Wards Corner Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant on Friday, December 9, 2011. The open house will be held from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the plant, located at 448 Loveland-Miamiville Road in Miami Township. “We worked with the community to ensure that this $10 million advanced technology facility adequately serves the needs of the community for today and tomorrow,” said CCWRD Assistant Director of Operations Dwight Culbertson. During the open house, visitors will be able to tour the new facility and learn about advanced technology utilized at the facility.
The Wards Corner plant has been in operation for several months, but landscaping on the project was recently completed. “The plant is designed for an average daily flow of two million gallons,” said Culbertson. “Facilities such as this enable the CCWRD to decommission older wastewater treatment facilities that do not have advanced technology to purify and reduce potential odors from incoming raw sewage.”
There will be limited parking on site; visitors to the open house are encouraged to ride-share. For more information about the Wards Corner Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant, call 732-7947.
