Gingerbread House Competition Goes to the Dogs!

Batavia, Ohio. Through the end of the year, the Animal Wellness Hospital of Union Township invites citizens to stop by and vote (monetary donation) for their favorite gingerbread house; all proceeds will be donated to the Clermont County Animal Shelter to care for abused and neglected animals. “Each staff member made a gingerbread house and they are pretty creative!” said Dr. Michelle Hendricks with the Animal Wellness Hospital. Seven gingerbread houses are in the competition, sporting everything from a tropical theme to a house with Santa and reindeer on the roof.
“We hope to raise $300 for the animals with the gingerbread house vote and two gift baskets we have to raffle filled with items for dog and cat lovers,” said Dr. Hendricks. “Our staff members spent hours crafting each one and decorating them with gum drops, candy canes, tons of frosting. Check out the one with the melted snowman in the front yard.”
The Animal Wellness Hospital also invites the community to bring pets for a picture with Santa on Tuesday, December 6, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the hospital. Donations will be accepted for the Clermont County Animal Shelter, located at 4025 Filager Road in Batavia Township. Call the shelter for adoption information at 732-8854.
