Immediate Release
August 25, 2009 Batavia, Ohio. As part of the second annual Southwest Ohio Veterans Bike Show, the Veterans Administration mobile health clinic invites local veterans to sign up for health benefits. The mobile clinic will be at the bike show, held at the Clermont County Fairgrounds in Owensville, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, and on Sunday, August 30, 2009.
“As part of our outreach efforts, I’d like to encourage all of our local veterans who have never applied for health benefits to visit the mobile clinic this weekend,” said Clermont Veterans’ Services Director Dan Bare. “Unfortunately, there are probably quite a few vets out there who are eligible for services they are not aware of; we’ve got to spread the word.”
The bike show is sponsored by the Vietnam Veterans of America Clermont County Chapter 649, with proceeds going to benefit homeless and at risk veterans, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The show will feature competitions for a variety of motorcycle classes, including vintage, bagger, and show bikes; there will also be a ladies class. The event also features food, live music, and door prizes.
The Southwest Ohio Veterans Bike Show will run from 10 a.m. Saturday through 5 p.m. on Sunday (August 29-30) with overnight camping spaces available. For more information, contact Ron Miller at (513) 831-6018.
