Batavia, Ohio. Owners of all Clermont County restaurants and retail establishments are encouraged to contact the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce at (513) 576-5013 to take part in the Shop Clermont booth at the upcoming Taste of Clermont celebration, scheduled for September 11-13, 2009 at Eastgate Mall in Union Township. Businesses are encouraged to provide coupons for discounts at their establishments as a way to encourage citizens to sample their wares; the offer is free to all Clermont County businesses. The discount coupons will be passed out to citizens attending the Taste of Clermont.
“When citizens eat at local restaurants and shop at retail businesses across Clermont County, it directly benefits the community they call home,” said Clermont County Board of Commissioners President Ed Humphrey. A portion of the money spent is returned to the county to fund local government services, such as the Clermont County Jail, the Communications Center, and the local court system.
The Shop Clermont campaign is part of a joint effort by county government, township, school, chamber of commerce, social service agency, and communications professionals, designed to encourage citizens to shop Clermont first, whether it’s to dine or stock up on school supplies.
“Buying locally not only results in your sales tax dollars staying here to help provide local government services, but benefits your local business owner, and provides employment for your neighbors,” said Clermont County Administrator David Spinney.
