Batavia, Ohio. “His service and sacrifice will not be forgotten,” said Clermont County Commissioner Bob Proud, after learning that 36-year-old Gregory James Missman, an Amelia High School graduate, had died of injuries sustained after an explosive hit his convoy in Afghanistan.
Army Specialist Missman was a member of the Stuart G. Luginbuhl American Legion Post 72 in Mount Carmel. He had recently re-enlisted for duty; he had been a civilian for the past 11 years, and previously had served with the Army in the early 1990’s.
“We want his family to know that the county and the entire community are here to support them in any way we can,” said Commissioner Proud. “Our thoughts and our prayers are with the family.” Army Specialist Missman leaves behind a 4-year-old son.
