Immediate Release
July 9, 2009
Batavia, Ohio. What do you do with your old computer? Recycle it, of course! Bring your old computers to the Union Township Civic Center on Saturday, July 18 from 9 a.m. until noon; the center is located at 4350 Aicholtz Road in Union Township. “Computer recycling events like this can prevent thousands of pounds of electronic waste from ending up in landfills, and can reduce the number of toxins, like lead and mercury, from entering the environment,” said Clermont 20/20 Clean and Green Program Director Becky Ploucha.
Clermont County citizens and businesses are encouraged to bring old computers to this free event sponsored by Clermont Clean and Green, the Adams-Clermont Solid Waste District, Union Township, and the Cincinnati Computer Cooperative (C3). Your hard drive will be wiped clean of all information, prior to recycling the computer.
“Through C3, hundreds of computers are made available to schools, non-profits, students, and families on assistance,” said C3 Executive Director Walt Fischer. “I would like to thank the Adams-Clermont Solid Waste District for their continued support in sponsoring computer recycling events in Clermont County.”
