Batavia, Ohio. Are you interested in becoming part of a team of volunteers who assist emergency responders during a disaster? Miami Township’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will hold a series of three free training classes for volunteers at the Miami Township Central Fire Station, located at 5888 McPicken Drive in Miami Township. The first will be held on Friday, July 31 from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.; the second class will be held on Saturday, August 1, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.; the third class will be held on Saturday, August 22 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The CERT course is taught by a team of professional first responders who depend on CERT volunteers to assist victims, provide support, and organize volunteers, during emergency situations in the county. “Being a part of CERT is a great way to give back to the community,” said Clermont Department of Public Safety Services Director Beth Nevel.
