February 2, 2012
Batavia, Ohio. Clermont County Commissioner Archie Wilson has resigned as a member of the Board of Clermont County Commissioners. In a letter delivered to the board offices today (February 2, 2012), Wilson said his resignation, effective immediately, was based on his physician’s advice. Wilson began his term as a county commissioner in January 2011.
On Monday, February 6, 2012, Clermont Commissioners Bob Proud and Ed Humphrey are expected to accept Wilson’s resignation and appoint an interim commissioner. According to the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office, based on the Ohio Revised Code, the Republican Central Committee then has between 5 and 45 days to officially appoint someone to serve as commissioner to replace Wilson.
In his resignation letter, Wilson said, “I would like to thank the people of Clermont County and my good friends for all their support.” “I wish Archie and his family well,” said Board of Clermont County Commissioners President Bob Proud.
