Free Tax Help Available in Clermont County!
Immediate Release
February 1, 2012
Batavia, Ohio.
Workforce One of Clermont County is hosting a free tax preparation clinic on Saturday, February 25, 2012, between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.; the clinic will be held at Workforce One of Clermont County, located at 756 Old SR 74 in Union Township (near Eastgate Mall).
Appointments and walk-ins are welcome.
“Trained counselors and enrollment specialists with the Ohio Benefit Bank (OBB) will be here to help low and moderate-income citizens secure tax credits and benefits they are eligible for, but may not know about,” said Ted Groman with Workforce One of Clermont County.
The OBB estimates that over $2 billion in tax credits and other supports (most federally funded) go unclaimed by Ohioans who do not apply.
To expedite the application process, Groman encourages citizens to bring the following: W-2 or 1099’s or any other income statement, Social Security numbers for all family members, deduction and credit information (tuition bills, child care expenses, etc.), and direct deposit information for savings or checking accounts.
“This free tax preparation clinic is available to most households with an annual income of less than $60,000 a year,” said Sarah Douglas with the Ohio Association of Second Harvest Foodbanks.
“We anticipate tax refunds will be available in about a week.”
