Immediate Release
February 9, 2010
Batavia, Ohio. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Clermont County that will run through 6 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday); light to moderate snow will continue across the area through the rest of this morning. Additional accumulations will be from 1 to 2 inches through noon. The snow may mix with freezing rain. The total snowfall for this area ranges from 3-6 inches thus far.
Because of the snow, the Clermont County Department of Job and Family Services (DJFS) is cancelling two foster care programs scheduled for tonight (February 9, 2010). The foster parent recruitment meeting at the Hyde Park Panera and the first in a series of pre-services for foster parent training scheduled for tonight in Batavia will not be held due to inclement weather conditions.
The Clermont County Engineer’s Office has 18 trucks and plows on the road currently; all 400 miles of county roadways are passable. “My best advice is for drivers to be patient and plan to leave early to reach their destinations in time,” said Rob Alfieri, deputy of operations with the Engineer’s Office.
