Batavia, Ohio. “Thank you so much for your generosity,” the words that Clermont County Animal Shelter employees are saying again and again, as donations of food and other items steadily stream into the shelter, located at 4025 Filager Road in Batavia. The donations have resulted from a request for items to care for six malnourished thoroughbred horses, a pony, and a donkey, taken from a farm in Bethel in an alleged animal cruelty case. A veterinarian has said that all the animals are doing well and are responding to the care and nutrition they are receiving.
The following is an updated list of items needed for the care of the animals:
Grass hay Alfalfa cubes
Allfalfa hay Beet pulp shreds
Panacure wormer power pack paste Flax seed oil
Corn oil Anti-bacterial shampoo
Bagged or bailed bedding Wheel barrows
Heated blankets 1 50-Gallon galvanized trough
1 15-Gallon galvanized trough 12” sections of chain with end snaps
8 32-Gallon trashcans with wheels 2 heaters for galvanized water tubs
All of the above items can be dropped of at the Clermont County Animal Shelter between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The shelter is located at 4025 Filager Road in Batavia. After hours donations can be left at the building behind the shelter. Cash donations are being accepted at Bethel Feed and Supply, located at 528 W. Plane Street in Bethel.
