Immediate Release
January 20, 2010
Batavia, Ohio. Over the next few months, representatives from professional engineering and environmental consulting firms will be working along Old State Route 74, between Olive Branch-Stonelick Road and Armstrong Boulevard, to assess plans for upgrading Old SR 74 in that location. The workers from American Structurepoint, Inc. and Gray and Pape, Inc. will be surveying, identifying utilities, and conducting environmental studies to collect data that will be needed to evaluate and develop preliminary plans for roadway improvements.
The Clermont County Transportation Improvement District (CCTID), in cooperation with the Clermont County Engineer’s Office, Batavia Township, and Union Township, is considering a series of improvements to Old SR 74, between Olive Branch-Stonelick Road and Armstrong Boulevard. The planned improvements would upgrade the roadway to three lanes with paved shoulders and storm sewers.
No definite plans have been made for this proposed project; after the data is collected, public meetings will be held to discuss proposals for improving Old SR 74 in that location. Citizens with questions, concerns, or special needs can contact Steve Wharton with the CCTID at (513) 289-9051.
