Clermont Commissioners Proclaim Child Support Enforcement Month
Batavia, Ohio. The Board of Clermont
County Commissioners today proclaimed August 2002 as "Child Support Enforcement
Month."
Throughout the month, the Child Support Division of the Clermont County
Department of Job and Family Services, has activities planned to help bring
attention to the importance of child support to families in our community, and
to actively seek information on those who are avoiding payment of child support.
These activities include:
- The Clermont County "Most
Wanted" poster, which will be distributed throughout the county in August
during Child Support Month. Eight non-custodial parents are featured on the
poster. These eight individuals owe their children a total of $201,978.75.
- Establishment of a child support informant hotline,
(513) 735-TIPP.
- Website advertising will be utilized throughout the
month on rural transit buses; The message will read "Your children have your
eyes, now give them your support,"
www.ClermontSupportsKids.org.
- A Child Support Round Up focusing on the apprehension of 40 delinquent
parents. Names and child support arrearage information will appear on
Adelphia Cable channel 22 and in the local media.
The Child Support Round Up is a joint collaboration between Child Support
Enforcement, the Sheriff?s Department, Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts.
Throughout August, the Sheriff?s Department will be providing expanded services
to apprehend those individuals with outstanding bench warrants. The warrants
were issued for failure to pay child support and not attending required
hearings.
Join us in bringing special attention to this important area of public
service which greatly affects the children of our community. The child support
program is the second largest public program supporting children in Ohio; only
public education serves more children. For additional information, contact
