Clermont County Widens the Net for Parents Behind in Child Support Payments
Batavia, Ohio. The Board of Clermont County Commissioners has proclaimed August
2003, as "Child Support Enforcement Month" in Clermont County.
Throughout the month, the Clermont County Department of Job and Family Services, Child
Support Division, has activities planned to focus on the importance of child support to
families in our community, and to actively seek information on those who have avoided
payment of child support. These activities include:
- ?The Clermont County "Most Wanted" poster will be distributed throughout the
county in August during Child Support Month. Nine non-custodial parents are
featured on the poster. They owe a total of $287,586.21.
- ?Informant tip information will be added to the child support automated phone
line at 732-7248.
- ?The Child Support Round Up will focus on the apprehension of 44 individuals
who are behind in child support payments. The pictures of offenders, their
names and child support arrearage information will appear on Adelphia Cable
and in local media urging citizens to contact child support enforcement with
tip information.
The Child Support Round Up is a joint collaboration between Child Support Enforcement, the
Sheriff's Department, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts. Throughout August, the
Sheriff's Department will be providing expanded services in order to apprehend parents
negligent in making child support payments with outstanding bench warrants for failure to
pay child support and for failure to appear for required hearings.
Join us in bringing special attention to this important area of public service which greatly
affects the children of our community. The Child Support Program is the second largest
public program supporting children in Ohio; only public education serves more children.
