Clermont County Recognized for Innovations in Technology
Batavia, Ohio. The National Association of Counties (NACo) will recognize Clermont County at the association's annual awards ceremony in July for technological innovations designed to improve child support collections. The Clermont County Department of Job and Family Services' division of Child Support Enforcement (CSE) initiated a partnership with several county departments, including Juvenile Court and the Office of Technology, Communications, and Security, to create a paperless case processing system.
"Currently, there is no automated link between child support, the courts, and our state computer system," said CSE Director Brenda Gilreath. "This project will implement an interface between the courts and our office to electronically produce and transmit documents. It will save significant manpower now needed to manually prepare them."
"It is exciting to collaborate with local offices on technological advances that will significantly improve county government management and administration," said Clermont Juvenile Court Judge Stephanie Wyler. The project is being implemented in Juvenile Court, with plans to expand to other county offices.
"NACo is proud to present this award to Clermont County for developing an effective and creative program that could be shared with other counties across the nation," said NACo Executive Director Larry Naake. The award will be presented to Clermont County on July 13 at the NACo annual awards ceremony in Kansas City, Missouri.
