New Way to Make Child Support Payments
Batavia, Ohio. The Clermont County Department of Job and Family Services, Child Support Enforcement Division, announces the arrival of the Ohio e-QuickPaySM Debit MasterCard? Card. Clermont County is one of the first counties in the state to offer this new program to its child support payees.
The program allows payees, who currently receive paper checks or direct deposit, to obtain child support payments electronically on this new debit card. The cards will be available for use at businesses worldwide where MasterCard® is normally accepted. The owner of the card can access the child support money by making purchases, or by withdrawing cash at banks, Automated Teller Machines (ATM) and at stores across the country and internationally.
There will be no monthly fee for using the card and there will be no fee for withdrawing money from a teller at a bank that displays the MasterCard® logo. There will be a $.75 transaction fee each time the card is used to withdraw money at an ATM machine. The State of Ohio is providing this new debit card for added convenience as payees will receive their money two to four days faster than with paper checks.
Other added benefits include help for those payees who may have had problems with check cashing fees, or lost and stolen checks, and the easy availability of balance inquiries and transaction information to the customer. State of Ohio officials recently visited Clermont County to test the card and obtained favorable results. Enrollment forms are currently available at the Clermont County Office of Child Support, 2400 Clermont Center Drive in Batavia, or you may go online to print an enrollment form at www.clermontsupportskids.org. The first customer card is scheduled to be activated on July 19, 2004.
