Clermont County Commissioners to take immediate action to relocate the Clermont County Clerk of Courts
Batavia, Ohio. The Board of Clermont County Commissioners has
decided to take immediate action to relocate the Clermont County Clerk of Courts
office from the basement of the old County Courthouse(270 East Main Street) to
the first floor of the new County Courthouse (attached to the old building, also
at 270 East Main Street).
The decision comes following concerns expressed by Clerk of Courts, David Caudill
at today's meeting of the Board of Clermont County Commissioners.
Caudill spoke during a presentation by Clermont County Health Commissioner, Dr.
Janet Rickabaugh concerning steps the County has taken and will take in the future
as the result of the Legionella pneumophila bacteria being found in the
cooling tower at the Kahle Building, which houses several County offices. The
Kahle Building is across the street from the County Courthouse.
While congratulating the County for its proactive stance is dealing with concerns
at the Kahle Building, Caudilll stated that Clerk of Courts employees working
in another County Building (the basement of the old Courthouse) were questioning
their working conditions. He stated that one person working there has tested positive
for the legionella bacteria.
Until a full evaluation can be performed in the basement of the old County Courthouse,
the Clerk of Courts employees will be moved to the nearby first floor of the new
County Courthouse.
