Job Duties

Determine client qualifications for the WIC program.  Conduct nutrition assessments.  Document notes in participant charts.  Prescribe appropriate food packages.  Provide nutrition education and counseling to income eligible women (pregnant, breast-feeding and post-partum), infants, and children up to the age of five years.  Promote and support breastfeeding.  Issue breast pumps.  Follow WIC Policies and Procedures.  Utilize a computer.

Prepare educational materials and presentations.  Conduct outreach activities.  Refer clients to other services.  Obtain anthropometric measurements.  Conduct hemoglobin tests.  Perform clerical duties.  Attend meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a B.S. in Dietetics, or related degree, and completed dietetics internship program.  Licensed by state of Ohio.  Must have a valid driver license and ability to:  communicate well; read and write common vocabulary; display basic computer skills; add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers.
