Here at the clarifier, solids settle out in the bottom of the tank. The cleaner water spills over the weir. The solids go back through the earlier parts of the process, while the cleaner water goes on to the final filtration process.
The Lower East Fork Wastewater Treatment Plant is one of eight plants that serve 40,000 customers in Clermont County. Each day, 6-7 million gallons of wastewater are pumped through this plant. The Oxidation ditch process is one of the beginning steps towards treating wastewater.
